Short Stories for Kids on success lies outside our comfort zones

We are taught to push beyond our comfort zones by this story.

Ramya was a young 10 year old. She loved her school. She loved her home. She refused to go anywhere. She refused to leave the school grounds. Rather than go anywhere, she would rather stay home. She didn't have many friends because she didn't enjoy going out and making new friends. She loved spending time with her younger brother in the garden or playing with her toys at home.

One day, at school, her class teacher told her that they would all be going on a field trip to the jungle to learn about all kinds of plants, animals, and the natural world. While the other kids were thrilled about the trip, Ramya started to get anxious about visiting a new location.

"Why go to the jungle when there are so many trees, plants, and animals around the school? But how can I persuade you, ma'am? Ramya thought, 'I will talk to my dad about this"
Ramya told her dad that she was very scared to go on an expedition and she didn't see the point in doing this. Her dad thought this was a great idea to tell her a story

"Today, I'll tell you a story about a frog that was somewhat like you," Ramya's father told her

A frog by the name of Dweep used to reside in an ancient well in a village. He had spent years living in that well. Because he believed the well to be his entire universe, he had never left it.

One day, out of the blue, Hemu, a river frog, jumped and fell into the well.

"So, is your river as big as this well?" Dweep asked.

Hemu thought Dweep must be joking. "A well is not nearly as big as the river."

"I don't believe it; nothing can be bigger than my well," Dweep replied.

Hemu told Dweep he had to get out to see . After a lot of convincing Dweep agreed.

It was Dweep's first time emerging from the well. Everything about the outside world astounded Dweep. The flowers, the grass, the bees

Hemu led him to the river bank. Dweep couldn't believe his eyes.

Dweep thanked Hemu for bringing him to the river . He decided to swim inside the river to see how unique it is.

Ramya's dad explained to her that, if she went along with her friends on the school trip she would discover a lot of new things and Ramya trusted her father and took the leap of faith and there was no looking back after.

Bring out the explorer in your child with the ekdali world map.
